When is the next Mercy Gunderson book releasing?

February 1st, 2012

Good question — and one I answered today on Murder She Writes — follow the link :)

When is the next Mercy Gunderson book releasing?

Happy New Year 2012!

January 26th, 2012

Uh, yeah, I realize I’m 26 days late…last time I was this late on anything? I was pregnant. So better late than pregnant never, eh?

I’m striving to be more active on my personal blog in 2012 — but I will link to the Murder She Writes blogs, send you over to the Lorelei James site (my naughty erotic romance writing alter-ego) when I have interesting news, and add some new categories of fun things to share here. Probably gun related stuff, just because I can :)

Next week I will answer the question — WHEN THE HELL IS THE NEXT MERCY BOOK COMING OUT????? — that I’ve been asked ten billion times.

And in the next few weeks I will have news about a short story Julie Collins project that’s coming up — more info as it becomes available!

NO MERCY WINS SHAMUS!!!!!!!!!

September 19th, 2011

I’m STILL in shock that NO MERCY won the 2010 Private Eye Writers of America award for Best Novel.

The award is beautiful :)

I sort of babbled in my acceptance speech, well, because I had nothing prepared because I honestly did not think I’d win. Robert Crais was very gracious, especially after I confessed how much I loved Elvis Cole and how much that character inspired me — totally true. I was very humbled to accept the award in front of Robert Crais and Sara Paretsky — another one of my writing idols.

Whoo-boy, I did some hard core celebrating Friday night with my writer pals when I got back to the bar at the Bouchercon hotel.

Have I mentioned I’m stunned?

Off To St. Louis and other news!

September 14th, 2011

I’m off to St. Louis today for Bouchercon, the international mystery conference. I did a post about it today on the Murder She Writes site, and there’s a contest for a $25 gift card, so pop over and leave a comment.

The Shamus Award ceremony is Friday night. I don’t have a prayer of winning, but I am honestly honored to be in such great company with the other nominees.

Also, I found out last week that NO MERCY was a finalist for the 2011 WILLA Cather Literary Award in the hardcover fiction division! How cool is that? I’ve won the award once and been a finalist one other time, so I’m thrilled to have this new series recognized too.

NO MERCY nominated for a SHAMUS Award!

August 24th, 2011

I’ve been a little slack on this blog, and I realized I hadn’t even mentioned that I found out last week the first book in my Mercy Gunderson series, NO MERCY, was nominated for a Shamus Award, by the Private Eye Writers of America, for Best Hardcover Fiction. I was stunned. And thrilled. And really excited.

Anyway, I’ve posted about it at two different places today with two chances to win a signed copy of the book. Follow the links if you’re so inclined:
