This is where I’ll be this weekend, hope to see some of you there
If you live in the LA area, I will be signing books at Saturday’s Giant Book Fair at the 2011 RT Booklovers Convention — where you can meet 400 authors from 11 am- 2pm!
Here are the official details:
You can buy your $5 ticket at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel on the Lobby Level on Saturday. We suggest that you arrive at 10:30 am in order to take advantage of the entire book fair.
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel
404 South Figueroa Street
Los Angeles, CA 90071
Here’s the line up of all the great authors who are hosting the morning Mystery Chix and Dix mixer in LA:
It’s no mystery why this Mystery Mixer is a perennial fav at RT! Join us for free food, free books and other giveaway goodies. Your favorite mystery and suspense writers, including “Monk” and “Diagnosis Murder” novelist/screenwriter Lee Goldberg, will unveil their latest and future thrill-rides and whodunnits.
Hosts: Lori G. Armstrong (aka Lorelei James), Brett Battles, Allison Brennan, Robert Gregory Browne, Carole Nelson Douglas, Lee Goldberg, Sue Ann Jaffarian, Rick Mofina, Rhys Bowen, Brenda Novak, D.P. Lyle
After that, I’m participating in a panel — Private Dicks, Dames and Immortal Words
“Don’t worry about the story’s goofiness. A sensible one would have had us all in the cooler.” (The Maltese Falcon, 1941)
Classic Hollywood noir has given us memorable characters and you can do the same in your writing! Today’s masters of mystery will clue you in on how to create villains, victims and detectives with undying appeal.
Captain: Carole Nelson Douglas
Panelists: Lori Armstrong (aka Lorelei James), Brett Battles, Lee Goldberg, Sue Ann Jaffarian, William Link
I’ll be in sunny LA all this week kicking up my bootheels participating in panels, reader events, parties and all that fun stuff that makes up the always fabulous Romantic Times Convention. Plus, I’ll get to meet with my Samhain editor, hang out with mystery writer friends I only see once a year, chat with fans, pick up my Lorelei James reviewer’s choice award for BRANDED AS TROUBLE, and check out the contestants for Mr. Romance 2011…
Lest you think it’s all fun and drinking games…okay, I cannot lie. It is all fun and drinking games
Don’t ask how many pairs of boots I packed
